Save The Dogs UK calls for dialogue with MBR Acres as campaign gathers national momentum Just nine weeks after launching on 30 April 2026, Save The Dogs UK has formally delivered an Open Letter to the directors of MBR Acres Ltd, inviting the company to enter into constructive dialogue about the future of laboratory beagle breeding in the UK and the peaceful closure of its Cambridgeshire facility. Campaign Highlights - 55,000+ followers across multiple social media platforms since launch. - 4.5 million+ online views, helping bring national attention to laboratory beagle breeding and animal testing. - Open Letter delivered to MBR Acres Ltd, with copies sent to its parent company, customers and relevant Cambridgeshire authorities. Built as a social-first campaign, Save The Dogs UK exists to raise awareness of laboratory beagle breeding, campaign for an end to animal testing, and promote greater investment in modern, human-relevant alternatives. The Open Letter to MBR Acres requests a voluntary, negotiated settlement to address the ongoing public dispute over the Wyton facility, drawing inspiration from comparable industry changes already underway elsewhere. Since launching, Save The Dogs UK has encouraged thousands of supporters from all sections of our society, to contact their MPs, sign the campaign's Open Letter and engage with the growing parliamentary conversation around the future of animal testing. Recent developments, including the closure of Ridglan Farms in the United States, have strengthened the campaign's belief that meaningful change is possible through public awareness, scientific progress and constructive dialogue. A spokesperson for Save The Dogs UK said: "This campaign was built on a simple belief: ordinary people can create extraordinary change when they refuse to look away. More than 50,000 people have already joined us because they believe the future of science should not depend on breeding dogs for laboratory testing. Our invitation to MBR Acres is simple: meet with us, talk with us and help shape a responsible and compassionate future. The conversation has started. Now we need action." Save The Dogs UK is calling for increased transparency, greater investment in non-animal research methods and a clear roadmap to phase out the breeding and use of dogs in scientific testing. • Fripps Farm & Foxes

    Posted by Olly — 14 Jun 2026 · 16:36 (UK)

Hello Everyone. We are not associated with Fripps farm, with Jodie Marsh or with the recent story about foxes being taken there. A supporter of our campaign seems to have been involved and for some reason decided to tag us in his video. We had nothing to do with it and are focused soley on saving the MBR Beagles. We are focused on our goals and that's it. Please inform anyone that is still spreading misinformation that we are not linked to any of this. Thank you. For the puppies <3

  • We need your specialist skills (or someone you know)

Hi @all We're looking for vets, vet nurses and legal professionals to help with the campaign. If that's you, please head over here: https://savethedogs.uk/specialist-support If it's not you but a name has just popped into your head, please forward this email or share the link. A quick intro from a trusted friend goes a long way. Thank you, as always, for standing with the dogs. ~ Olly

  • The clock is running.

    Posted by Olly — 22 May 2026 · 18:02 (UK)

If you visited the site today, it looks different. Here is where we are. The roadmap is now the homepage. Every phase of work that has been done — by every group, every supporter, every signature — is now the front door of the campaign. The case is on the record, in public. Six phases, in order, every conventional route exhausted. Phase 05 is live. An open letter to the directors of MBR Acres Ltd is on the table. The website now carries a countdown to the moment it is hand-delivered to them in person. When that timer reaches zero, the letter goes public on this site at the same moment it is placed in their hands. The handover will be live-streamed. Follow our Instagram or subscribe to the newsletter to be told where to watch. Phase 06 — the conditional final option — is in the open too, because honesty about it is part of the legal posture. We have not chosen direct action. We do not want to take that step. Two UK juries have, twice, said open rescue is not dishonest. The choice now rests with MBR Acres. Sunday 21 June. The next demonstration at the gate. This is not our event — it has been organised independently by other groups, as so many days of action at this site have been before. We will be attending to support it. We will also be making an announcement on the day. If you can get to MBR Acres on the 21st — please come. PE28 2DT. From 11am. Bring a friend. Bring two. The bigger the crowd that day, the louder the message is. Three things to keep in mind: - This is a lawful, peaceful demonstration. Stay calm. Stay on public land. Stay legal. - Look after each other. Water, sun cream, shoes you can stand in for hours. One more thing. The /rescue page has been rebuilt. There are now two paths to help: sign up to a tier of campaign involvement, or apply to foster or adopt a beagle. Both are needed. If you haven't picked a way in yet, take three minutes today. The clock is running. Stay with us. — Save the MBR Beagles

  • We are out of polite options.

    Posted by Admin — 21 May 2026 · 17:05 (UK)

Hello, You signed up to this campaign because you want MBR Acres closed. So do we. So have hundreds of thousands of people, for the better part of fifty years. I want to be honest with you, because some of you have said it out loud: this campaign might have started to feel like another group asking you to sign another petition. I understand. We are tired too. So before I tell you what comes next, I want to tell you what has already been done. Not by us — by all of us, together. Every group, every supporter, every signature. We have petitioned. More than 121,000 signatures presented to Parliament. Half a million across every petition combined. The country has been asked this question, repeatedly, for years. The answer never changes. We have stood at the gate. Camp Beagle has held the world's longest continuous animal-rights vigil at MBR's gate since June 2021. Nearly five years of presence. Every vehicle in, every vehicle out, documented. We have marched. More than a decade of demonstrations, vigils, and national days of action. Sustained, lawful, visible — and somehow still not enough on its own. We have gone through every legal door. Five Crown Court trials. Two juries, at Cambridge and Peterborough, who heard the evidence and refused to call open rescue dishonest. We have asked Parliament. Westminster Hall, this April. Eleven MPs from every party in the chamber rose to speak in favour of ending dog testing. The government offered seventy-five million pounds for research and a vision statement. That was the answer. And so we are out of polite options. Or almost. There is one more peaceful step we have not yet taken. We are about to take it. In the coming weeks, we will send an open letter directly to the directors of MBR Acres Ltd. Not another petition. Not another chant. A direct, public ask: meet us, talk, and agree the peaceful close-down of this facility. The American beagle-breeding company at Ridglan Farms agreed to do exactly that earlier this year. We are asking MBR Acres to follow that example. If they say yes, this is over. If they refuse, every lawful option remains on the table — including the kind of direct action that two UK juries have, twice, already said is not dishonest. We have not chosen that step. We do not want to take it. The choice rests with MBR Acres. This is not aggression. This is what is left after fifty years of doing it the right way. Tomorrow (Friday), the website is going to change. A new homepage will appear: the public record of every conventional step that has been taken, every door that has been walked through, and the letter at the end of it. It is the most important page this campaign has ever published. I am writing now because you have been part of this. If you have started to wonder whether anything we do still matters, the answer is yes — but only because of what we are about to do, together. We have done every right thing. Now we do the thing that follows from it. Stay with us. — Olly & the Save the MBR Beagles team

  • A message to our supporters.

    Posted by Olly — 15 May 2026 · 14:22 (UK)

We are aware that a small number of people are spreading inaccurate claims about SaveTheDogs UK and our relationship with other organisations working on this issue. We want to address that directly. SaveTheDogs UK was set up for one reason: to end the breeding and testing of beagles in the United Kingdom. Everything on our website is there to be read. Nothing is hidden. We would encourage anyone with questions to start there. Our approach is structured. We have a roadmap of peaceful, lawful actions designed to apply meaningful pressure on the people and institutions that allow this to continue. Direct action is not our starting point. We are working through every other route first, and we are doing it properly. The support is real. The British public overwhelmingly opposes animal testing. MPs are listening. In one month, more than a thousand people have joined this campaign. We also want to be clear about the government's position. A proposed 30% reduction in animal testing by 2030 is not a solution. It is a delay. The science behind animal testing is outdated and the results are unreliable, and that is no longer a fringe view. It is increasingly the position of researchers themselves. We are not extremists. We are not violent. We are people who care about animals and about good science, and we are unwilling to accept that beagles bred to suffer is a price worth paying. We will share the full roadmap shortly. Thank you for your patience, and for being part of this.
