1 · Show up
Marches & events
Nothing moves this like people in the street. Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin closed after a public campaign that refused to go home; in September 2026 the company that owns MBR Acres was marched on in two countries at once — the March for Animals walked 207 miles from Albany to Marshall BioResources in North Rose, New York, and us walked to its gates in Cambridgeshire. Every person who turns up is counted — by the press, by the police, by the MPs who read the numbers, and by the company behind the gate.

2 · Take it to your community
Organise something where you live
Most people still have no idea this is happening in Britain. The single most powerful thing you can do is talk to people, face to face, in your own town. You don’t need permission to care, and you don’t need to travel to Cambridgeshire — bring it to where you live, and tell us so it goes on the calendar.
Ideas that work
A solidarity walk
Pick a day, pick a route through your town, tell us the time and meeting point, and it goes on the march timeline for others to join.
Street stalls
A table on the high street with leaflets, the open letter on a tablet, and a QR code to write to their MP. Saturday mornings are gold.
Stalls at local shows
County shows, food festivals, fêtes, farmers’ markets, vegan/veggie fairs, dog shows — anywhere crowds gather and dogs are loved.
Small peaceful demonstrations
A handful of people, clear placards, a friendly tone. Stay lawful and stay kind — it’s far more persuasive than anger.
Leafleting
Town centres, community noticeboards, vets’ waiting rooms (with permission), cafés and pet shops happy to display a card. Artwork is in the print pack.
Talks & screenings
A library room, community hall, university society or local group — 20 minutes on the facts and what people can do.
Keep it peaceful & lawful
- Stay on public land or get the landowner’s permission. Check whether your council needs notice for a stall or a street collection.
- Keep it calm, factual and friendly. We are an offer, not a threat — never target individuals, homes or staff.
- Use the facts on this site so every claim you make is one you can stand behind.
While you’re out there, point people to the wider movement too — Camp Beagle and the MBR Suppliers campaign (below). The more people see how many of us there are, the more real this feels.

Write to your MP
Our tool finds your MP from your postcode and gives you a letter you can send in two minutes. Choose the angle that matters most to you:
- Beagle breeding & testing — and why the Government’s slow “phase-out” of animal testing doesn’t have to mean waiting to end this.
- The “national infrastructure” question — why is a dog breeder given protections meant for power stations and hospitals?
- Animal welfare (ASRU) — conditions inside MBR, and the dogs left in extreme heat through the heatwaves.

Campaign to Ban Animal Testing & Research in the UK
A public Facebook community for people calling for an end to animal testing and research in the UK. A good place to share what we’re doing, keep up with news across the movement, and talk to people who already care.

Animals International’s campaign to end animal toxicity testing — behind the first major exposé of UK toxicity labs in a decade, with photo and video evidence of what happens behind closed doors. If the science and the secrecy are what drive you, follow their work.
Animal Rising
A national animal-advocacy movement whose “Free the MBR Beagles” campaign calls for MBR Acres to close and for an end to animal testing in the UK — carrying the same message to a huge audience.
Camp Beagle
The continuous, lawful vigil that has stood outside the gates of MBR Acres since June 2021 — more than five years. Follow them, support them, visit if you can.

Leaflets, marches and legal advice all cost money. Donations go to Save the Dogs UK Ltd, a registered company. Nobody is paid, every pound goes to the campaign, and we publish our accounts twice a year.

How can I help end beagle breeding at MBR Acres?
The most effective lawful actions are: write to your MP about MBR Acres, sign the parliamentary petition calling for a public inquiry into animal-testing regulation, come to a campaign event, organise a stall or walk in your own town with the free print pack, and support the wider movement. Everything Save the Dogs UK asks of supporters is peaceful and within the law.
Is there a petition about animal testing I can sign?
Yes. UK Parliament petition 778680, started by the actor Peter Egan, asks the Government to launch an independent public inquiry into the regulation of animal experiments under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. As of 13 October 2026 it had 16,110 signatures. It passed 10,000 on 29 September 2026, so the Government must respond; at 100,000 it is considered for a debate. It closes on 9 March 2027. Sign the petition.
Does writing to my MP about MBR Acres make a difference?
A letter from a constituent is treated as constituency casework, and MPs can table written questions, raise MBR Acres in debates and write to Home Office ministers. A written question from the Member for Huntingdon produced the April 2026 answer on the November 2025 Home Office audit of MBR Acres. Our MP letter tool finds your MP from your postcode.
Is Save the Dogs UK part of Camp Beagle or Animal Rising?
No. Save the Dogs UK is a fully independent campaign and is not affiliated with Camp Beagle, Animal Rising, Save the Dogs USA or any other organisation. We credit and link to their work because the movement is bigger than any one group, but we do not speak or act for them, and they do not speak or act for us.
Can I organise my own event against MBR Acres?
Yes. Street stalls, leafleting, small peaceful demonstrations and talks all work. Stay on public land or get permission, check whether your council needs notice, and never target individuals, homes or staff. Leaflets and posters are free in the print pack, and the open WhatsApp community will help you plan.
Is it legal to protest at MBR Acres?
Peaceful protest is lawful, but since 12 February 2026 life sciences sites count as key national infrastructure under section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023, so deliberately interfering with their use or operation can carry up to 12 months in prison and an unlimited fine. The regulations are being challenged by judicial review. Read protest law explained before you go.
Does Save the Dogs UK make money from its merchandise?
No. Save the Dogs UK makes no commission on any product. T-shirts, hoodies and bags in the shop are printed to order and posted by Teemill, which takes the payment; a few designs are sold through Etsy on the same basis. The merchandise exists to spread the word, not to raise money.
